I got my iPod touch wet. I know. Yes, my fault, even if accidental.

Let it dry for a while, turned it back on and everything was fine - touch screen works, buttons work, memory all intact - except for the screen's brightness. It's pretty much near black though I can read the text. Even after turning the brightness all the way up, which hasn't made a difference.

Is there any way I can remedy this problem?

Put it in a bowl of dry rice, it should be totally dry after.

Would water really make the screen dark? And would removing it make it brighter? I'll try it but I'd like to know if others experienced the same thing and if they actually made it better without buying a new one.
