How many of you use an external speaker for your iPod?

WHat kind and brand/model is it.

In terms of iPod accessories, I have noticed many focus on earphones / headphones , but when you wanna just hear your music out loud and not be isolated... how do you do it, in places like work, etc.

Sometimes you need to share the music.

    Discuss.

fyi I have an iPod Video 5G 60GB in an Altec Lansing iM7 Tube along with my PC with 5D speakers for public aural delights and my headphoned iPhone 3G is just for my personal listening pleasure.

At home, I connect my touch to the Altec Lansing IM600 iPod speakers... I bought it brand new for RM$500+ (around US$135) from someone I know and so far there are no complaints... The IM600 produces great surround sound with the Expanded Sound Stage... There are also four buttons to preset radio stations and not forgetting that the unit also charges the iPod touch as well...

bose sounddock and i love it. I haven't tried ihome or altec for a long period of time but they seemed decent for the $100> they were selling for on boxing day ...actually i think altec has very good sound quality for being less than $100, i was surprised. ihome wasn't surprising..just what i expected..decent sound nothing too detailed or deep

if u strictly want sound quality and can live without having clock and alarm on the speaker dock, which i'm assuming you don't need unless you sleep on ur job, i suggest sounddock. May be pricey but worth it imo

    I have a black JBL On-Stage II
But it was released before my iPod Touch 2g and i originally bought
it for my iPod Nano 1g. That means it cant charge my iTouch when its docked but anyways, its a very small speaker with a very good sound!!

    External Speaker

I resently bought a portable speaker system,(ac/dc) for my Ipod touch, made by AVLABS and it does a good job. Only problem is like most speakers I've looked at is the dock for the Ipod holds it in the Portrait position which is no good viewing apps In landscape.
