    Is it possible?

I just got the idea while watching all these external Microphone and Camera mods coming up.

ROFL. as popular as food is in Ethiopia maybe. no but seriously. that makes no sense.

unless you like open your ipod and com, pletely replace the dock for something that can read memory cards.

but even though you would need to HEAVILY mod the ipods firmware to read this memory. and come on. how the hell you gonna charge your ipod if you have no dock?

    imbeciles

The external memory is not supposed to be a memory card. I imagine it to be like a tiny box or something, shaped according to the iPod proportions.

And about the charge thing, you could have a new dock on the other side of the memory thing in which you could put charge cables and docking stations. It would be just like a length extension to the iPod itself:

    Check next post.

Edit: Obviously, someone managed to post ahead of me, so check the post after the next post.

It shows where I mean that the memory is supposed to be placed and how it's supposed to be shaped.

Do you mean like having the external memory being an external device, which you plug into the iPod for mor e storage?

Well if you remeber the old ipod camera dock thing, what it did was sync with a camera via usb, then import it into the photo database. We could do something simular but with usb flash devices and a 3rd party app to conver/import the media.

But the thing is, who will take the time and money to do it
