Alright, so I'm going to get a Macbook within the next few months and I would like to be able to back up my Macbook to my external hard drive when I do get it.

    Here is my question though:
My external drive (Seagate 750GB) is formatted NTFS and runs all the default Windows software on my current desktop. I know that Macs don't really have the easiest time writing to NTFS without pulling a few strings. If my whole drive is already partitioned NTFS, will the disk management utility on my Macbook allow me to create a partition on the drive that is read AND write compatible for backing up my Macbook? Or do I have to reformat my entire external hard drive to be able to partition it into two separate parts?

Is there any good solution to this problem without pulling strings (MacFuse, etc.)?
