    hi,

a first post from a very untech person,so please bear with me.had a look at all the relevant guides and couldnt see an answer so hence my post.

had recently had to back up my pc due to probs with my itunes (amongst other things).
all my music is on an external drive,on my pc itunes now loads up no probs and I can see all my music; but when I click a track to play it itunes says 'it cant locate the track and would i like to locate it now' this is relatively easy to do for one track but when you have about 550 to do no fun!!

is there a quick way to do this for all my tracks?

    any suggestions greatly received.

    cheers

and third, concerning your problem, were the songs on your itunes imported from your external harddrive? If not, then delete all your songs from your itunes then import them from your external harddrive.

originally I had my songs on my pc then exported then to the external hard drive.these songs are in a folder in my external hard drive ( itunes only plays them when its plugged in)
perhaps my question should be how do get this folder into my itunes? as it wont let me drag and drop it direct into itunes.

Hmm, then you might need to drag your folder of music onto your PC's harddrive then import them to itunes.
Don't delete the folder afterwards though
