    Hi,
I was using the previous version of Extended Preferences, and saw an update of it in the Recent Packages on the Installer so i decided to install it. Upon installing, it failed with the error "main script failed to initialise". I thought that was ok until i went back to settings and found out that my Preferences does just not work at all! I have tried manually restoring the backup, restoring a friends copy of Extended Preferences, restoring his backup and none of these seem to fix it!
I don't want to do a restore on iTunes, so can anyone suggest a possible fix for this?
    Thanks so much,

EDIT: I only just saw that there was an iTouch help forum, so i will post in there also, sorry for dupe posting admins

You have to make the permissions 755... you didnt do that.

I have to set what to permission 755, all of the files?

EDIT: Nevermind, they were already all at 755, and re-chmoding them didn't make any difference, it sitll just quits back to main menu!

You go into your preferences folder (SSH) and select everything... except for the folder...

You right click them and change the permissions.

You then go into the folder of your language and do the same in there.

wish I had read this thread before updating! D'oh, I guess that I will restore and rejailbreak it, I dont want to fuss around with FTPing and all of that...rats so much time and effort put into jailbreaking, getting ROMs (which are now long gone on my comp) and adding and deleting sources. Oh well.

This just happened to me.. ez fix since it creates a backup just go into /private/var/root/Library then take the backup and replace it with the preferance.app in /Applications and remove the ".bak and your done..

    no need to re-jailbreak

this is what i did after that^^ did not work:

1)delete the old preferences.app and copy a new one to your iPod
    2)Uninstall extended preferences
    3)repeat step 1
