    Hi,
I was using the previous version of Extended Preferences, and saw an update of it in the Recent Packages on the Installer so i decided to install it. Upon installing, it failed with the error "main script failed to initialise". I thought that was ok until i went back to settings and found out that my Preferences does just not work at all! I have tried manually restoring the backup, restoring a friends copy of Extended Preferences, restoring his backup and none of these seem to fix it!

I don't want to do a restore on iTunes, so can anyone suggest a possible fix for this?
    Thanks so much,

EDIT: I only just saw that there was an iTouch help forum, so i will post in there also, sorry for dupe posting admins

I did the same thing and have the same issue. I did a search from the terminal and my Preferences.app is now missing. I plan on finding a copy on here to restore I hope. Check and see if that is your issue too.

I believe the original Extended Preferences install should have made a backup of your original preferences (at least it did at one time). Might suggest you take a look in ~/Library/Preferences for a folder called Preferences.app.bak

Dude, you need to learn to read. When it has the update it says to uninstall all previous versions FIRST!!!

    EDIT:

    I FOUND A FIX:
1)delete the old preferences.app and copy a new one to your iPod
    2)Uninstall extended preferences
    3)repeat step 1

I'm confused. What is the name of this app? is this the one where there is one for iPods only and another for iPhones only? Cause that's not a virus.
