ok i am having major doubts about jailbreaking it i mean does it render the ipod functon(as in all the origional apps plus i tunes) useless? is their a possibility it can make the battery crush in compared to specs...how long does the battery last on a single full charge?
so could anybody give me pros and cons on jailbreaking and not jailbreaking?

Umm, I'm getting mine soon too. Although, no your iPod will still remain the same, same goes for the battery. All that is different is that you can install several applications that you cannot do normally, like PS1 emulator, NES, GBA etc.

If anything goes wrong, you can always restore it in iTunes. No problems at all.

Check out a few video tutorial's at ipodtouchmaster's website; http://ipodtouchmaster.com/videos.html

originally, i was like you, expecting it saturday
shipping delays led it to be delayed until next saturday
    bummer.
at least i got the time to learn this jailbreaking process inside out
and personally, i have no doubts in it
im fully up for it, and the only thing i have against it, is the SSH..
i would not want, to have someone surf my ipod, with the ssh, if im at home..
    like my brother
knowing what he is capable to do, i bet he would try and mess with it

    BUT
that is the only aparent downside.

Honestly, it looks to me like you've setup a program with maybe 100 or more different messages, and it will post in random threads..I've reported you to an admin. This is the tenth time I've seen one of your sh*tty annoying post's today

Jailbreaking the iPod does absolutely nothing expect allow you to install programs (and access the iPod via SSH). It wil still work perfectly with iTunes.

The battery will be slightly diminished because more icons = more power taken to display the icons. Also, some programs will keep running in the background unless you close out of them completely (by holding the menu button). Also, if you have SSH always running it will run down your battery.

    Pros
    - can add programs
    - can play many games (emulators, and native games)
    - greater functionality (mail, weather, maps, etc.)
    - more customizable (themes, wallpapers)
    - bragging rights

    Cons
    - if directions not followed, can mess up your ipod (but can always be fixed by force restore)
    - voids warranty (although restoring will delete all proof of jailbreaking)
    - slight battery loss (but if you're careful it won't be noticeable)

SSH is a network protocol that lets you browse your ipod touch via wifi and view the individual folders and files from your computer. The application that gets installed on the touch has only 2 settings: turn SSH on/off, and change password. If you were worried about your brother ssh'ing on to your ipod without you knowing, you could change the password. However, this really isn't a problem as you should just leave SSH turned off on your ipod unless you yourself are going to use it. (There is no reason to leave it turned on)

    -edit-

    Also,

    This is just ridiculous...
