Payback is a game that is just like Grand Theft Auto. Owners of the Playstation console would be familiar with the popular Rockstar title. In the top-down 3D view game, your character walks/drives/roams around the city commiting unlawful acts such as carjackings, murders, shooting cops, etc. You can undertake numerous missions such as stealing taxis or killing members of the KKK for your "boss". In return, you receive scores/points (instead of money). Achieving a certain score, will complete your current map. What is so good about the game? Payback allows casual gamers to free-roam around the city committing whatever unlawful acts he or she desires, it is a great pick up and play game for those moments on transit. For serious gamers it provides various missions to complete. There are tonnes of vehicles such as a tanks, taxis, helicopters, buses, vans, police cars, police vans, etc. And also numerous weapons such as grenades, pistols, shotgun, detonate bombs, flame-throwers and the list goes on. No lag was experienced on the 1st generation iPod Touch. Gameplay: The gameplay is great! Nothing is more fun than running around shooting everyone and getting chased by the cops. Payback is very fun and addicting and is very well featured. Controls Please Register or Log in to view images The game is controlled through the accelerometer and the touch screen. You press either forward or backward on the touch screen to move your character, whilst tilting your device either left or right to turn in that direction. Weapons are used by pressing the fire button, carjackings are performed by a button under 'fire'. Although it sounds complicated, the controls work perfectly. You can also adjust sensitivity in the options. Calibration for the accelerometer is also provided. Sound: Payback comes with lots of music tracks spanning a diverse range of genres. It goes well with the game and settings such as continuous music playback and radio makes it customizable. You can also play your own iPod songs. The Voiceovers for the telephone conversations are done very professionally with lots of funny accents.
