    Hi,
A few days ago I disassembled my iPod Touch 1G because of a broken homebutton. Here you can take a look of what's inside of a 1G touch!
Yes, I know that there are similar photos on iFixit for example but this one is IPTF exclusive

    Hi,

The first step was to remove the back plate. I used a cutter for that 'cuz I had no tool for it like the guys from iFixit have.

The first things you can see after you removed the back are these:

...the processor and the 2 NAND chips appear!

That's amazing how small they are, imagine there are 412 Mhz in this small chip (right ones is the processor) and 2x 8GB (left and middle are the NANDs). Yes, it's a 16GB iPod Touch.

    ...der Prozessor mit den Speicherchips

Please Register or Log in to view images

...picked up the communication board (of course it was also glued) with its wifi part:

hm..now I removed the logic board which is connected with the communication board through a flatcable and was taped on the steel plate- you can still see some pieces of adhesive on it:

An overview at this point...after I removed some brown-yellow transparent tape (which was only there in case for warranty issues) the 16 screws which are holding the LCD in place were successfully located:

On the Homebutton thing I tried some things and finally got it to work - I'm not gonna publish how I did that 'cuz such a fix will cost around 50€ (in germany) if done by apple. But it's also not the topic of this thread^^ - but below some explanations of the homebutton

    Everything reassembled:
    und dann wieder alles zusammengestöpselt:

Okok what did I use for the whole OP?
Sooo...was habe ich alles dafür gebraucht?

Cutter, scissors and big screwdriver for removing the back - sounds a bit cruel and it really was not easy to do that

Please Register or Log in to view images

Please Register or Log in to view images

The screwdriver set to remove the tiny screws in the ipod
Dann das Schraubenzieherset für die ganzen Mikroschrauben

Of course the iPod Touch, our patient^^
Den iPod - na klar, der Patient^^

The case - the iPod was in there.
Der Case da war der iPod drin

Transparent tape - this was used for my "secret" operations on the homebutton nothing to explain here^^

Pen and geometry triangles for note down some informations for myself.

Now we're done hope it was informative for you guys. Feedback is everytime welcome
