no, really, does anyone know why the dev-team didn't release tools for 2g? Is it because the firmware upgrade isn't free for us?

If they didn't release it because the firmware's not free for the 2G touch, why did they release it for the 1G touch where the firmware isn't free either?

    I was running a jailbroken 2.2.1 iPod 2G.
    ... And I Loved It...

But I figured I'd try the official 3.0 firmware.

So I unjailbroke, restored to 2.2.1, cause you can always go back.

Now I didn't pay for anything... downloaded the official off some MegaUplaod link I snagged off YouTube... but anyway... I restored and it worked... but it wasn't even that great. Like I thought it would be some like really cool thing.. it WAS and I loved it... but it's not worth it if you cant jailbreak.

Make a long story short after about 3 hours I restored to 2.2.1 original, jailbroke w/ QuickFreedom, (as i'm sure all us 2G owners did) and got my cracked apps back from a backup.

At least I took the risk, but i'll say this.

When a jailbrake gets released.. I'll definitely do it..

P.S - If you want the [you-know-what] link...

You kids are hilarious. Yes, they hate you because they didn't give you your meal on time. They're not here to serve you. Their first priority is the iPhone, get over it. They owe you nothing. You should be greatful that they will release one WHENEVER as oppose to not releasing one at all.

They haven't released it because they aren't done with it... Stop being so impatient.

There was supposed to be SOME humor in my post, I was just curious if anyone knew why the 2G JB wasn't included in the release.

They don't hate us. The 3g was unlocked days after the beta was released for the iphone. They are working on everything else, and remember it was very complicated for the original 2g jailbreak. So they have to do some modifications to the jailbreak to make easy for us users. Since the 2g is still the most recent apple product which is able to be jailbroken. Apple i believe is doing their best to stop the jailbreak. As for the 1g ipod touch, they stopped support for it and that why it is being updated so quickly.
