I would like to compare everyone's speed on the forum. I'm using a G router, with Dr. Tcp modified on most of my wireless devices.

I'm getting 10mb/s on most of them, which translates to 1 MB/s (yes, 1 MEGABYTE), which means a 3 meg song is downloaded in 3 seconds.

but on the touch, i'm getting slower speeds.

    go here from your touch.

    http://reviews.cnet.com/Bandwidth_meter/7004-7254_7-0.html

I'm getting 730kb/s which is essentially 79 KB/s which means i'm running at 1/20th of my laptop speed.

    79 KB/s is 1/10 of a meg, rounded up from 80 to 100KB.

Which means 1 MB is 1000 KB its 10 seconds to download 1 megabyte (MB)

Wow, i'm only at half of your operating speed. I'm at 800, you're at 1550.
I wonder if all ipods are different and have different stability characteristics based on the different network card, or if the network is what can cause it too.

I am a networking engineer by living, so I'm pretty sure my network is not affecting the ipods slowness. what I do know is that all my devices are working fine, but the ipod responds slowly sometimes....a reboot usually fixes it, but after aabout an hour of browsing, I start to feel the bottleneck, maybe its the cache which could be slowing the loading time.

also i heard and is true that if you connect your router through your ethernet wire, it is faster...
