can anyone point me to a tutorial for making the "light escaping around an object" effect in photoshop?

I'm talking about the effect you see alot in movies like indiana jones and tomb raiders, where it looks like a beam of light is escaping out from around the edges of an object

I saw a similar thing, it was a tutorial for making an exploding planet. the only problem is, you can't select certain elements to have the effect. you just take a cracks texture, cut a circle out of it, apply a few effects, and adjust the hue/saturation. its basically just a round wind filter...

That tutorial makes it seem like it will take a few minutes, but I'm pretty sure it will take longer then that to get the lighting good. I like it though, it gets right to the point, no bullsh*t.

yeah its a great tutorial, thanks for sharing. I actually got it to work perfectly using that, just by using some creative gradients and masks to make it look like the light was coming from a 3d hole.
