Yes, I have searched the forum for this problem, found a thread about it, read reply that was the possible solution, tried it, no luck.

Basically, I'm trying to use redj0hnny (as my primary binary, but I've used iRecovery as well) to send my custom ramdisk for confidential reasons.

When sending files with either binary, I get "Error receiving status!"

Here's what I've tried as solutions

Logged in as root using "sudo -s" and then ran redj0hnny
    No luck.

Tried a different USB port and then ran redj0hnny
    No luck.

Tried a different USB cable and then ran redj0hnny
    No luck.

Tried using ./iRecovery -r to reset USB ports
    No luck.

Posted a thread for help on iPod touch fans
    No luck.

    Haha. Can anyone help?

EDIT: I cannot try this on another computer as I don't have one. So that solution can't be attempted for now.

EDIT #2: I found the problem. Since I was using iRecovery and redj0hnny to send files to 3.1 beta 2, it did not work. iRecovery and redj0hnny have to be updated. Ugh.

Do you remember what the command was called?

    EDIT: Found the command, it's ./iRecovery -r

I tried it, and of course, it didn't work.

I haven't really looked into it, but if usb_control_msg on 0x21-1 doesn't work, you could always try bulk write on endpoint 0x04, which is the same protocol that usb get uses. It's removed, but I am pretty sure apple left in the endpoint handler.
