Try using a different USB port, and or restarting your computer.

Thanks just tried both of those and no luck. Tried it on my lap too and no go. Must be something on the touch as when I connect it.. Sounds like the hd is stuck in one spot trying to read it. Just makes noise over and over. Any chance of resetting the touch, sure would hate to lose everything but if that would fix er? thanks..

LOL.. NO YOU DON"T? You know less than I do! You have to "CONNECT" to restore it, you don't have to CONNECT to "reset" it.

To reset it to factory settings you, To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done. Gong to try this now and hopefully this well solve the problem so I can connect to Itunes and the PC.
