first, ive put the ipod into DFU mode about 10 times exactly as directed.
the DFU screen shows up on the ipod
Itunes recognizes the ipod in recovery mode

    heres where the problems start.......
when i try to install my custom 2.0_5A347_R IPSW made with winpwn 2.0.0.4 it will extract and prepare the ipod for restore then i keep getting the error code 6

when i try to put the normal untouched 2.0_5A347_R IPSW i get an error where Itunes and the ipod will just get stuck on these screens...

once it happens the only way to get out of it is to unplug my ipod while its still stuck on the previous screen. the itunes will give me an error code 9

ive restarted my computer several times and the ipod too, left it sit overnight powered down

    any help?

Any error under number 20 means you aren'tin DFU.

No matter what you think. that's what it means. Try again following this:

    Plug iPod in
Turn iPod off and wait 10 s
    Hold both buttons for 10s
Release power button and hold home button until iPod is recognized as in recovery mode

Because I've gotten errors 1, 5, 6, 12, 18, and 20 when trying to restore the iPod to a custom firmware without being in DFU mode and just testing to see the error numbers.

turn your ipod on and keep it pluged in the whole time
1.hold the home and sleep buttons for 10s until the ipod turns off dont slide to turn off
2.after it turns off keep holding the sleep button for 2s and then let go and continue holding the home button until itunes reconizes it then restore

note: the screen will be black thats good

    Plug the iPod in
Hold both buttons until the screen goes blank and wait 10s
Hold both buttons down again for 10s
Release the power button after 10s and hold the home button until it pops up in itunes
