I was trying to restore the firmware of my ipod touch 2G 8Gb from 4.1 to 3.1.2 when a window poped up saying the error 3194 happened during the process. It was bought about 1 year ago.
It is in DFU mode right now. I read that if I restore to the original from the itunes, I may never be able to downgrade it ever again. What shoud I do now?
Thanks and sorry for the noob questions.

The error means that Steve incorporated a shah soft Thimbu so you cannot downgrade. The comment you made about never able to downgrade again is wrong. I would suggest trying again if you cannot restore you are stuck on 4.1 ( for nao)

You can't lose SHSH blobs [ unless you only backed them up locally. ]. if the blobs are on Cydia, they're there forever.
