i had an ipod touch with 1.1.4 and was trying to update to 2.0, but accidentally installed the iphone software. I keep getting error 1403 when i try to install the right firmware verson. Any advice?

also, i dont seem to have any operating system on it now, and itunes wolnt restore it without trying to download a huge file. Sucks for me, I'm running on dial up.

I read somewhere that using iTunes 7.5 might fix your problem. Are you trying to install a CFW 2.0? I was getting error 1403 when I was on 1.1.3 and trying to install a 2.0.2 CFW. I fixed it by restoring it to the original 2.0 and restored it again with 2.0.2 CFW.
