I think the Pro and Air line would be mixed, I like this idea. But that will mean we sacrifice some features...

Yeah, it will be very cool if this proves to be true. It's just my best guess at the situation.

    No chance. (t-h-i-s c-o-m-b-o w-o-n-'t h-a-p-p-e-n)

I'm not sure why these tech sites even start rumors about such an idiotic idea other than to get page hits.

You must provide some backing here otherwise the thought means nothing.

I think Apple will kill the Air, make a Mac OS Tablet while making the Pro much more thinner and lighter.

    Mac OS Z anyone?

I sincerely hope that the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro remain separate; I like the way it is now, there are mor options. I mean, the MacBook Air is ideal for writers on the go or anyone doing light work. With the MacBook Pro, I like how full featured it is, true to the "Pro" name. I hope they don't get rid of the optical drive completely just yet as there are still a lot of uses for discs. I'm thinking Apple should revolutionize the MacBook Pro not by a decrease in size and capabilities, but an increase in customization. If the Pro were available with an optional optical drive or if you decided you didn't want one, you had other options to fill the space. To me, MacBook Pro means true customization of a device to fit one's professional (and unprofessional alike) needs. I don't mean adding an option for a bunch of useless features, but a much more personal Pro, internally.

I think combining the two would make perfect sense. Streamlined design with powerful features...

They need to get rid of the stupid optical drive and increase the battery life with the new found space. They should kill spinning hard drives and update to flash memory. Start moving to thunderbolt instead of USB and upgrade to the new ivy bridge processors. I'd also love an increase in screen resolution like the new iPad.
