Edit text/plist file in Finder/Terminal possible?

    Can it be done? If so, what settings in Finder have to be changed. Or what
    BASH commands are used and how is the file loaded in Terminal. Which ever
    way is easiest.

    vi can edit text file.

    are you not able to use textedit.app ? It integrates with mobileFinder nicely
    some plist files are in binary format and may require you use 'plutil' to change it to plaintext. Plutil is a terminal command

    While vi does the job you may find it easier to install textedit.app or 'ed', another terminal program
