Well you can't turn EDGE off :/
You can only turn off 3G

Are you on AT&T or T-Mobile?
You can check your bill, if there's no difference, then consider yourself lucky for getting free data

AT&T, and I got it to turn off when I installed ultrasn0w lol. One last question. I want to get 3G on my iPhone, but my SIM isn't from the iPhone it's for my LG VU, can I still get 3G if I get the $30 plan, or will AT&T make me get a whole new plan?

You can turn it off with sbsettings. You might have to keep turning it off whenever you reboot the phone

You don't need to unlock it if you're using it on AT&T =/.
Especially since ultrasn0w messes up your push notifications. If you want to get the data plan as well, you'll need to go to AT&T and sign a new 2 year contract (I believe). Then they give you a new sim, I don't think you can use your LG Vu Sim card with your iPhone. I may be wrong

You can use the same sim card. I switch my sim to my old LG Vu if I'm going somewhere that I don't want to bring my iPhone.
