Could this be ported onto the touch??
It basically scans the area really quickly and automatically joins a wifi with no security.

(Because links arent allowed, just go to google, and type Easy wifi radar, its the first link)

So instead of having to turn wifi on and tap a network, you turn wifi on and it joins a network automatically?

It does that already with networks you know, and it does it by name.
So if you connect to one 'Linksys' or 'Netgear' or 'Home', it'll auto connect to all of 'em

Indeed, I'd wish I could get some similar application on my Touch.
Something working like a radar, showin me in what direction I will get the best connection.

Someone knows the answer to Jimbodude's question?

The applications Stumbler and APlogger give you accurate signal scans in a more advanced way than that off your Preferences app. They're no "radars" but they shouldn't be overlooked.
