    Why all of the sudden is this a problem, let alone news worthy? The iPod touch has never come with headphones with the inline mic and controls.

    Wouldn't use them anyway got Klipsch S4i which includes in-line mic+remote.

    3rd Generation did.

    For some reason that's the only gen that had it for a while. All others didn't. But still, the 4G didn't and there was no big fuss about it.

    Anyway, I still dont undertsand why Apple doesnt release the mic+remote earpods with the ipod. Isnt the iPod supposed to be the best selling music player, specially for ppl that listen to music when walking, traveling, etc?. Guess they want ppl to jailbrake so they can skip songs or play/pause using Activator when the device is in your pocket LOL

    Um, no it didn't. I had the 3rd gen iPod touch 64gb and it just had regular earphones with no mic and remote.
