Maybe someone here can make a ear trainer for the ipod touch?

one that plays a note and then you guess that note. this would be very useful to me and aspiring musicians who need help in identifying notes =)

    thanks

so exactly like the Music Quiz on the older iPods (maybe new ones i don't know) but instead of playing snippets of songs, play musical notes? yeah that's easy (lol famous last words) mod the music quiz app for the iPod touch/iPhone via Installer (i'm sure there's one), put all the musical notes in a specific folder, and tell it to only play the "songs" (musical notes) in that folder.

boom. that should work. i'm no genious myself with apps but i'm sure ^^^ thats possible. hope it helps

I think heis talking about a program that plays notes and chords and then you have to guess what chord is being played. Not guess the song it is from (altho that would be cool as well

Sounds like a good idea to me I have a program like that on my pc but having it on my ipod would be great =D

no no no, i mean a "song" where ONLY that note is played. Not an actual song where theres more than one note or chord, just ONE NOTE/CHORD.

    e.g. File (ONE NOTE/CHORD) being played= C#
    it gives you options, A#, B, C#, F

Pick C# (the answer in the example) and says "correct!" or something, then moves onto the next NOTE/CHORD.

Guessing which song these chords are from would be way too complicated for me. Get me??

i'm not sure, something like 'play files only in /root/EarTrainer/Notes/' or something instead of default 'play all files of [insert media file types] format'

it might work, as in put it in the coding n sh*t

Great idea! You can't learn perfect pitch, but you can get pretty damn close. All you need is to sample a piano and have it play notes that you Touch on your scree. You can probably use that iANO app in this way.

    Totally .....
    here's your new app:
    1. Open iAno
    2. Close your eyes
    3. Hit a note
    4. Guess what it is
    5. Look down
    6. Imagine a big banner reading "CORRECT, U R TEH MUSO!1"
