    Hey, so i recently decrypted a DVD perfectly with DVD Decrypter and it left me with a whole bunch of files. So then i go and encode it so i can watch it on my ipod touch but i can only encode one file at a time. It goes right to my iTunes but these files dont show any video. Im using the Videora iPod Converter please help me!

    thanks.

    I'll second that handbrake is excellent.

    On windows, you need to

    (a) figure out which title is the movie (hint-the vobs that are largest have the movie)
    (b) join them using a freeware tool like http://www.afreecodec.com/win/813/vobmerge/ to merge them into 1 vob file
    (c) convert that 1 file using Videora iPod Converter

    Enjoy.

    Edit: or use handbrake - looks like it's matured since I was last there

    Hi All:

    I have been trying to decode my LAST WALTZ DVD on my MS Desktop .
    But I need help -- I keep ending up with M4V files !

    1: HERE's my 1st attempt
    * I read all the scoop at iLounge
    * I used DVD Decrypter and Videora
    * I got back 9 Parts
    *

    Parts 1 & 2, both 18 minute segments, worked perfectly, Each was about 300 megs
    * I may have messed up the other P trying to "view the conversion".
    *

    Other Parts seem ended up as MV4 files

    2: HERE's my 2nd attempt
    * I used DVD43 and Handbrake
    * I tried to select mp4 but I am sure that it only offered m4v
    (I am using an old Compac PC)
    * It took over 8 hours (I think!) to do the conversion
    *

    I ended up with a 1.4 Gig m4v file

    Do I start again .. or .. do I try to convert the m4v to mp4 ?

    In DVD Decrypter, use IFO mode and select the largest PGC. You will get a single VOB containing the entire movie. You can import the single VOB into Videora.

    It sounds like you are using file mode which gives you several smaller VOBs, plus the IFO files and BUP files. If you collect the Decrypter output files into a single folder, you can import that folder into Handbrake.

    M4V will play on the iPod. Before you start the encoding process in Handbrake, there is a toggle which offers you various encoding options. I usually select iPod high resolution, and use the h.264 codec.

    Hi Eragon:

    ... It seems to me that I read book about you!

    M4V ... This sounds like good news. I will try harder !

    You see, I tried to drag the file into iTunes and was ignored- i.e the file icon was "faintly coloured". My attempts to convince iTunes to " convert for the Pod" were ignored!

    Many TY's

    PS: This is my 1st post using the pod!
