I purchased a sealed iPod Touch on eBay and after only one day of usage, there are at least 4 or 5 particles of dust stuck under my screen. What's more annoying is that some of them are stuck right in the middle of the screen. I don't live in a dusty environment and I didn't even take this iPod out. Some people are saying this is due to a manufacturing problem. The warranty for this iPod ends in 2009 and I was wondering if I can go to my local Apple Store to exchange it for a different one.

Well at this pace, the amount of dust in my iPod will probably surpass yours in a matter of days

Best bet would be to call Apple support and see if they can help you.

That is also a good idea but then you have to wait for the package to be shipped, ect. Taking it to the apple shop is less of a hassle and takes 10-30 minutes

I'm going to the Apple Store to meet up with a Genius sometime next week and hopefully they'll exchange it for me without much trouble. Just a couple of more questions. Even if my iPod is under warranty will they ask me for a sales receipt during the exchange? Since I bought it online, I obviously don't have one. Also, will they give me a refurbished iPod or new one?

Anyone know whatever came of this? My first speck just appeared in a fairly annoying spot, and nothing I do seems to affect it. I'm just worried there may be more later.

Have you contacted the seller? They should be able to help you out.
