Okay, so he JUST jailbroke his 2G today, had so many cool new apps on it. But then the worst thing happened. He went home to take a pee and then he ended up dropping it in the toilet (long story). The touch screen barely works anymore, the brightness doesn't work, and the computer will not recognize his device. So if he wanted to send it back, he couldn't because it has the jailbroken firmware installed in it. So that automatically voids his warranty.

Oh, and I don't think he could find the papers that came with his iPod either.

So yeah, is he completely screwed? Or is there some sort of way to fix this horrible situation?

Wow. Uhh, turn it off, let it dry out, and try to plug it in after a couple of days. I don't think that Apple would take it back anyway.

well he turned it on so it might be a goner. nonetheless tell him to put in a bowl of rice so it is completely covered. wait a few days. also check inside teh headphone jack for a piece of paper. if it is white send it to apple if the rice doesn't work.

Good idea. I'm sure he'll ask, so the white piece of paper detects if it has touched water. It obviously has turned blue, which indicates that it is gotten wet.

lets see, can he somehow open up the iPod, find what went wrong (which could be dozens of things) fix it or get a replacement, and close it bak up without screwing up his iPod even further? if the answer to that is no, then he's out somewhere between 230 and 400 dollars, sorry!

moral of the story: dont drop electronics down the toilet
