Is it possible to dual boot both firmwares? I know it was possible with 1.1.1/1.1.4 because JB'ing 1.1.4 reverted the boot loader to 3.9 so it ran the same as 1.1.1. Since 2.0 has a completely new boot loader, is it possible to run both? And how might I go about doing so?

Well... since it does have different boot loaders, it may not work...

It could be pretty awesome... but dangerous...

This is what I'm baseing my question off of: http://wikee.iphwn.org/s5l8900:dualboot

It's aimed towards the iPhone, but it does give the disk geometry for 8Gb Touches (that's what I've got):
I think it would be possible, it might take some work. Think I should try it, or would it hose my iPod over?

The tutorial is in my last post, It's whether it applies to 1.1.4 or not is the question.

If a developer, or at least some one who knows the architecture of the ipod from firmware to firmware could tell me if all the 1.1.1 stuff need to be changed to work with 1.1.4.

It hasn't been done yet. This thread is contemplating the options of doing such. That code is done for dual-booting 1.1.1 and 1.1.4.

i have written a tutorial for 1.1.1 and 1.1.4, but for 1.1.# and 2.0 would be very hard, because iPhuc has not been ported over yet, and that is one of the main techniques.

I saw a download link for a pre-partitioned firmware, I am not sure what you can do with that...
