He is saying that you are lucky to have one because most others do not have one. Appreciate what you have. Even if its damaged a bit. Appreciate it. You should've protected it better. Be less clumsy. Sounds like you didn't have a case on it. Or a terrible one if there was a case.

I really dont understand these posts about ipods being dropped and broken or scratched. A nice protective case costs 30 bucks max. You're spending 300-400 dollars for an ipod and yet you dont buy a case? i've dropped my ipod more times than I can count and have yet to do any damage at all to it. Contour showcase is really protective. Even has the flap to cover the headphone and cable port. The decalgirl skin with graphics helps too

Seriously there's nothing you can do about it. It's not warranty damage. Go to www.decalgirl.com and peruse the hundreds of skins there. They will cover the scratches and prevent any in the future. And buy a case. Even a cheap case is better than none at all.

Why would you need a new one if it's only scratched ?

Coolness factor of new Iphone? I'd buy a skin and cover em up. And I'd smile alot too.
