Dropped my iPod into a puddle - still working? [Update - Fairly working?]

    Hey everyone,

2 days ago I dropped my iPod into a puddle

(could have killed myself for doing that)

anyways I let it dry for these two days now.
When I plug it into my computer (the iPod's jailbroken) it comes up as an "unknown USB device". Everything seems normal so far.
After I put it into DFU mode and replug it (->usually the screen turns white), it's again recognized as an unknown USB device, I guess it rebooted.

Is it possible that it's just the battery is completely empty or something like that (so it simply runs out of power and reboots)?
I also tried recovering it via iTunes but during the recovering process it just "reboots". Means that it is again in that non-DFU mode -> "unknown USB device"

Any suggestions what else I could try? At this moment I'm trying to charge it via USB (does it even charge in non-DFU mode?)

    Thanks for reading

Edit: When it fell into the puddle it was completely covered with water for like 1-2 seconds. After I took it out the screen turned black.

Since it is already jailbroken, can you try putting it into DFU mode and then use a program like 1clickboot to see if it will boot up?

Yep, has been jailbroken. I tried putting it into DFU mode but after the USB connection is reset it just reboots, which means that the screen doesn't turn white - then, my computer (vista 32 bit) cannot recognize it (same state it was in before I put it into DFU mode).

Update 1: I tried it again and the screen turned WHITE again but when I typed arm7_go in the command line it rebooted -> USB Device cannot be recognized

Can anyone draw a conclusion from this? What's going on

Update 2: It finally booted.. but the touchscreen doesn't seem to work at all. Could it be that it's just not dry yet?

I expected that it wouldn't work at all... But it seems that I got it working again. My question is if the Touchscreen is bricked or if there's any chance that it might be working in a few hours/days

haha i love how the term "bricked" is used so casually (sarcasm)

the touch probably is non working but apple's warranty covers it. maybe if you could figure out how to make sure the water detector is reset you could get a new one *wink wink*

if you say that some work some don't let it dry for a couple of more days *hint* put it under a hair dryer or put the back of the ipod on SHEETS of paper and put it where the air con is running and turn it up! it will dry it before you know it looool
