Dropped iPod touch in the toilet =(

    Sorry if there's already a thread for this, I didn't see it, but about two days ago i dropped (well my father) dropped my iPod touch in the toilet (1st generation). Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?? Thanks for any help

    I've heard soaking it in rice does the trick. Apparently the rice absorbs the moisture. Your iPod will probably have other long term effects though.

    He dropped your iPod and he isn't compensating you for it?

    Sorry I don't know any other suggestion only to send it apple but why was it near the toilet though?

    put the ipod in a bag of rice (make sure the ipod is completely covered/surrounded by rice) for a few days or until all the water looks like its dried up. then charge it until the battery is full. it should work, but its not a guarentee. thats what i did when my girlfriends mom washed her other daughters ipod. I got it to work.

    I dropped my 1G in the toilet, but I got mines fixed by Apple though

    Do not try to turn it on. Put it in a bowl of rice for a few days.

    Just so you know, if you drop it in water, the headphone jack (inside the hole) changes to red color. Water damage isn't covered in the warranty.

    If you want to send it in for warranty, unless you actually bought that "extended warranty", you have got to change it back to black. Use a drop of nail polish. Don't open it up. That breaks the warranty on its own.
