    no, its there device, they created it so they could do whatever they want before the customer gets it. It would be illegal if you go to get it fixed and then they secretly install it.

    why not just hack the boot and send false info to the efuse?
    or is there some reason thats impossible?

    woah that really sux, what if you download something of android marked and it does something to edit the bootrom that would suck, with iphone if something goes wrong u allways have dfu but this just dies..
