I've been wondering for a while if this would be possible.
An Dreamcast emu on the ipod touch.

Here's a quick look on the specs.

DREAMCAST: CPU 200 MHz Hitachi SH4 RISC
RAM Main 16 MB, Video 8 MB, Audio 2 MB.

IPOD TOUCH: CPU 330MHz TI Omap 2420 Arm 400MHz Arm
    RAM 128MB 128MB

So for now, Ipod Touch pretty much wins.
But what about GPU? , Ipod touch doesn't seems to have a good one.
While dreamcast... has a good one.

Ipod touch CPU can be clocked to 600MHZ ( 3x Dreamcast power) BUT Your battery life is shorten by alot.

    So what you think?

ABOUT PSP, DS, PS2, XBOX 360, CRYSIS, HALO 3....HELL
    Stop posting those, its impossible.

I think PSX/Dreamcast are the best only 2 that can be ran on the Ipod touch.

    psx (1) specs.

    R3000A 32bit RISC chip @ 33.8mhz - Manufactured by LSI Logic Corp.
    Clearing capacity: 30 MIPS
    Bus bandwidth: 132 Mb/sec

Which runs crappy on the touch, and will never run properly with sound (even the genesis and gameboy advance emulators don't run properly with sound). Hell, ZODTTD has even stated several times that the N64 would be impossible to emulate at proper speeds (you need a pc with fairly high specs to emulate it properly).

So, do you really think that we will ever see a dreamcast emulator that runs properly? NO. It's nice to dream, but it won't happen. Only native apps will run properly with similar gfx.

Just because you have seen monkey ball and a few other 3d apps, doesn't mean that you can emulate other consoles with ease.

    Monkey ball?

Anyways, if the PSX is worked on LOT, it WILL run near 100% im convinced.
Right now the emu is kind of crappy, thats why Zod is working on it.

Emulation at 3x original clock speed still will suck. But it would be awesome to see it happen, just so I could play Jet Set Radio again!

I agree right now this is not really possible.
But once Zod gets PSX working at high speeds, he could try this.

ohh man that would be sweat but the controller would be the biggest problum thts y sum 1 should make a universal emulator port controller for ipod. also there isent alot of easy accsesable games for the dream cast because it did so bad.

What does this demo tell us though?! Emulation would require much more power than this I would imagine?
