Yeah you can drag the apps. But they will NOT sync. As of now anyway.

Steve said in March 6 that you will able to buy/download apps by iTunes and sync them, you don't need to use AppStore in iPhone/iPod touch ;] it will be the same as iTunes store music and apps that you buy can be sync in to 5 authorized (to your Apple ID) iPhones/iPoTs

If you don't have to be logged in to access the iTunes music store, why would you have to be logged in to access the App Store?

I don't know because we can only be allowed to access the app store If iTunes knows you have bought the upgrade.
    Example:
I found the iPod official 2.0 firmware
    I shift+click+restore
Okay I'm on the official 2.0

Do I have access to the app store, because I want to see what they have before I buy the upgrade, or any apps at all

Are you talking about on the Device or on iTunes? Also, I don't think it's just as easy as "restore iPod Touch 2.0 firmware". On 5A345, you had to "Activate" the iPod Touch with 7.7 before you could use it. This could mean something on the Final Release.

    Please read my edit.

Also, I doubt you'd need to login to see App Store on iTunes.
