Hi folks. I have an new iPod touch 8g that I'm using in Beijing. Safari seems very reluctant to download things that aren't from the app store.

It won't download archived radio files from wfmu (in .rm or .ram extensions), it won't download a real audio player, it won't download a pop-up player that required Flash, and it won't download the Firefox browser (which i wanted to download to see if it would download the radio archives.

Anyone have any ideas on getting around this problem?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    there isn't one...

Firefox doesn't have a browser compatible for the Ipod yet... and Flash is something still a pipeline dream for a long time i think...

Flash is most likely never going to be supported as it will slow down the browsing experience.

Thanks. What about not being able to download .rm archive files?

Well, you'll need to jailbreak your device using blackra1n and then install Cydia and download Safari Download or something like that. And you'll be able to download files from Safari to your iPod. But I don't think you'll be able to open .rm archive files on your iPod though.

That would sorta defeat the purpose then.... I guess i'll have to work on wfmu to get a more mac-friendly application.

    thanks,
    DR
