There are times when I wish I could download Cydia packages to my computer. Sometimes you can do this with sources like ZodTTD through a web browser, but others give the 403 - Forbidden error. Is there a way to access these kinds of repositories from a computer? It's sometimes useful to have multiple downloads going at once or to download things away from my iPod to SSH later.
Please don't discuss why someone would want to do this on this thread so it stays on-topic.
    Thanks!

It might be helpful in figuring this out if I could find where in the filesystem manually added Cydia sources are stored. Does anyone know if there is a file that is a list of sources added manually in Cydia?

you just need to go to the sources section get the address from there and bung the address into a web browser and you can then browse the repo and manually install stuff.

for example click on this link: http://apt.modmyi.com/ and you can access modmyi's repo

the files for installing are normally in the deb or debs folder, modmyi has debs and 2debs (I am not sure which is which but hey I am just using this as an example).

upload via ssh and then to install run the following command via terminal

    dpkg -i <filename>.deb

when thats done use the following command to respring

    killall SpringBoard

and hopefully you will be good to go

Thanks, but I know all of this. However, it doesn't work for all repos, as I said in my first post. Does anybody know the answer to my question in post #3?
