WWill downgrading my firmware from 3.1.2 to a lower version let me use that jailbreak?
    Example:
    I have a 3rd gen iTouch (<- I do.)
If I was to downgrade to 2.2.1, could I use a 2.2.1 Jailbreaker?

    thanks.
Do you have any clue when a 3.1.2 Jailbreak for 8GB 3rd gen will be out?
    Blackra1n doesn't support the 8GB :[

    I believe that there is.

    http://www.blackra1n.com

I believe that Release Candidate 3 supports the 3rd Gen models (8, 32, and 64GB) but the jailbreak is tethered, meaning everytime you turn it off, you have to plug it into your computer and run Blackra1n while rebooting for it to turn on.

It really isn't that big of a deal; just don't reboot.

    Hmm.
You think that might have been my problem?
Every time I tried the Jailbreak, my iPod was acting like it was booting up, then shut off and wouldn't turn on. (This was while I had it plugged in, but Blackra1n was closed.)
[When I say wouldn't turn on, I physically mean it didn't respond to anything at all.]

And then you restored it and it was fixed? Could be. Very likely that it could be.

Just delete your current Blackrain, and download the newest one from the link I gave you.

Then open it, run it. You may have to hit it twice (when your iPod reboots). then it should come up with the homescreen.

    Holy hell!
It came on, all was fine, but I'm not sure if it actually Jailbroke.
I ran it, and the iPod acted weird again, rebooted Blackra1n and it turned on!
I'm trying to install Cydia right now, i'll tell you how it goes
