iOS 4.0 Downgrading to 3.1.3

    Can I downgrade an iPhone 3g from 4.0 to 3.1.3, and if I can how do I do it?

    i successfully downgraded my new bootrom iphone 3gs from 4.0 to 3.1.3 with shsh backup

    If I did not SHSH backup, is there any other way I can downgrade?

    Go into DFU then shift-restore to 3.1.3, apple is still signing it, it will work.
    If DFU doesnt work, try restore mode, one will work

    You have an iPhone 3g, you can simply DFU restore to a prevously downloaded firmware.
