I think, over all, it's a good update. But there are a few annoyances I've seen:

1.) Hold your finger down a bit too long and you get C&P (I'll get used to this, though).
2.) Wireless ... it's not working nearly as good as it did with 2.2.1.

The good news is the bars actually work now ... lol ... but the bad news is that it disconnects and then one time I was prompted to enter my password again -- NEVER should that happen.
3.) I notice some lag when opening apps (Apps that are included even).

get iRecovery and do the following, and then you can downgrade to 2.2.1

take a 2.1.1 iBSS and do the redsn0w commands on it, if you don't know them they are
    Code:
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
then upload a random file(it can be anything) and do
    Code:
    bdev write nor0 0x8000
    reboot
your iPod will restart in DFU mode and restore fine to 2.2.1
