I've been trying to downgrade my 32GB 3rd gen iPod Touch running on 3.1.3 firmware so I could jailbreak it using blackra1n. First off, I have a question. Do you ABSOLUTELY have to downgrade to 2nd gen 3.1.2 in order to jailbreak with blackra1n? Because a lot of people have been saying you have to downgrade to 2nd gen 3.1.2 in order to jailbreak with redsn0w, and I was wondering if I had to do the same for jailbreak with blackra1n. Well, anyways, I downloaded 2nd gen 3.1.2, put my iPod Touch in DFU mode while having it plugged into the computer, pressed option+restore (that's the way to do it on a mac OS X, anyway) selected the correct firmware, and... it didn't work because right off the bat, it said that I couldn't do it, since it was for 2nd gen. So, I downloaded 3rd gen 3.1.2 and did the same thing. This time, it went though good... all the way up to when it was verifying the restore with apple. It said that I couldn't do it, since it wasn't the latest firmware, I guess. Is there any way to skip the verify, or at least make it so that I can keep going with the restore? I run Mac OS X.
