I just picked up a 3G iPod Touch last night and it came with firmware 3.1.1. I was wondering if it's possible to downgrade from 3.1.1 to 3.1? Reason I want to downgrade is because 3.1.1 changes the interface of double clicking the home button which I dislike since I can't bring up the iPod controls anymore from a app without exiting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe 3.1 is for the iPhone, and 3.1.1 is for the iPod Touch. Unfortunately, you can't downgrade to 3.0, which I believe is what you need.

This is correct, although there is proof that some of the release 3G's were shipped with 3.1 firmware for some reason.

Really there's no double tap music controls? That really sucks.

Yep. If you have a 1G, and you need to adjust game volume, you have to pause the game, then adjust the volume from the lockscreen.

Also, you can start playing music from an app. You have to (once again) hit play from the lockscreen.

There is but if you wanted to play music you'd have to start the music before opening a app. If you haven't put any music on before then, you'd have to exit the app you're in. It's really annoying.

Yeah I don't like it either, it was better before.
