There's no way to downgrade. iTunes 9 doesn't let you downgrade to 3.0.

Nope, the iPod doesn't support that firmware? But I know for sure that it wouldn't work.

You can only downgrade as low as the firmware it came with. That's why an original iPod Touch can downgrade all the way from 3.1.2 to 1.1.1, iPod 2g to 2.0, and 3g 3.1.2.

Wait, he said that he got a MC model that CAME WITH 3.1.2, isn't that a 3G?

NO its not a 3g unless its a 32 or 64gb. The New 8g iPod Touchs are 2g with a updated Bootrom(MC) I dongraded from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 using a ipod2,1_3.1.2 and it worked. I am trying to do the same thing with downgrading to 3.0

because its MC its considered a 3rd Gen. you cannot downgrade it below fw 3.1.1.

the 8gb mc model ipod never used 3G firmware on the first place, just because you can downgrade it to 3.1.2 doesn't meant it will go all the way down to 3.0

it wont just happen, apple change the boot room and made it so it will take ONLY 3.1.1 and up
