    Hey,

I just purchased an iphone 3g that is unactivated with 4.0.1 on it. I want to know if it is possible to downgrade it so i can unlock it and use a t mobile sim card? After reading a lot i am getting nervous and hope i did not waste my money! I am down to do any trick in the book to get this iphone working.

    Thank You
    Patrick

Use redsn0w to hacktivate then unlock with ultrasn0w. Alternatively you could get a phonebook SIM and activate it with that, then jailbreak with JailbreakMe and unlock with ultrasn0w.

I believe you'd have to downgrade to 3.1.2 because 3.1.3 requires SHSH blobs.

I tried to downgrade to 3.1.2 on my MB touch 2g and I just got the error associated with SHSH blobs (can't recall the number), I had to go to 3.1.2.

Isn't this the iPhone 4 forum? Sorry to be pedantic.
