downgrade an app

    is it possible to downgrade an app?

    i lost the older ipa but how can i downgrade??

    this is a free app btw and it ISNT PIRACY!!!!

    1. It is not possible to do that if you are getting your app from the AppStore. But it is possible to do it another way, but I wouldn't recommend it because it is illegal.

    2. Also, I think that it is technically still piracy even though the app is free to begin with because you are not getting it from the original source or "author."

    How about Mailing the Author and asking for a lower version?

    If you mail the author yes it is legal but I have posted this on another thread and a mod said it was not unless you have special permission directly from the author.

    i have a binary which i copied from the old ipa before i deleted it... will that work just copied to the app folder?

    also, its not piracy if its a free app so can i try to source it from umm.. elsewhere...umm

    i believe that the old app goes into your "recycle bin" when it is updated. check there and try pulling it into the itunes folder. I think I did that successfully once.
    It sounds like you know where u can get it from if it doesnt work. technically its still piracy probably, but you aren't stealing it.
