I was jailbroken with version 3.0 on my ipod touch 2g, and finally decided to go 3.1 jailbroken. I thought that I would need to upgrade to 3.1 first before I jailbroke it. I'm now reading that you have to already be jailbroken if you wanted to go jailbroken with 3.1.2, so I need to downgrade to 3.0 from 3.1.2. I downloaded the 3.0 firmware when I option-restore in iTunes (9.0.2) I got an error (I think error 20, I could be wrong). How do I downgrade?

You read false information, this applies to the iPhone if you want to keep your unlock. You can still jailbreak your iPod touch on 3.1.2.

    Nice.
Do you know why I keep getting Error 1604 whenever I try to restore with the custom ipsw?

IDK how to solve that problem, I haven't made a custom ipsw since 2.0 days.

I dont think its a OS problem; google it and it should bring you to an apple support forum.

Once it's in the regular 3.1.2, I click option-restore, select the custom firmwire, get error 1604 - and from there it's already in DFU mode. I tried restoring it with the custom firmware again, while still in DFU mode, but without I had no luck.
