When I downgrade it simply put it into the dfu mode and then shift restore back to 2.2.1. That's it.

With itunes 8.2? If so I get a 1600 error. When you go DFU mode, do you have black or white screen?

I didn't get any errors. But when I go into DFU mode its black with nothing on the screen. It looks like its off.

We could do with a full tutorial for downgrading all devices back to 2.2.1... there's a lot of people not happy with 3.0 JB and I see some 1G iPt and 2G iPhone users struggling.

If anyone wants to make a tutorial covering downgrading all devices for WIN and/or MAC I'd happily stick it
