I have been trying to downgrade by i keep getting error 5...im an 8 gig 1st gen ipd touch
You can't downgrade. You're going to have to wait on that. This isn't the easy times of 1.1.x, this is 2.0.
You aren't in actual DFU mode if you get error 5. After you get it on DFU mode, SHift+Restore and select the 2.2 firmware you have a copy of on your desktop.
soo if I put it in DFU mode i should be able to downgrade?
I did it again. and now i am getting error 1
Did you put it into DFU correctly?
Try that. If that doesn't work, good luck! I'm clueless!
i tried everything...im jailbreaking 2.2.1...ill keep you updated with the results
I managed to downgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.2.0 on on mac using a USB hub.
I successfully downgraded my iPod Touch from 2.2.1 to 2.2. It is important to have a copy of 2.2 firmware. While your iPod is connected to PC, Hold Shift then press the Restore button. Locate your 2.2 firmware and iTunes will restore your iPod to 2.2.
