Hi, i already read through many articles about how to jailbreak my ipod touch 1.1.3. but i cannot even install 1.1.1 on my ipod.
I put my ipod in restore mode
I plug it in my computer
    I open itunes
I click restore pressing the shift key
    I select a downloaded 1.1.1 firmware

-> it gives me a pop up, which says "can not open file" or something like that and the downloaded firmware automaticly gets deleted

I tried that with the same firmware 1.1.1 from differnet web sites but it never worked.

Do u knwo what i do wrong or can u simply give me a link for a 1.1.1 firmware that could work

    A few things:

    A. Make sure you have a backup copy of the firmware (just copy it into another area) just in case it gets deleted again (I've had this problem).
    B. Try putting your iPod into DFU mode using ZiPhone, iLiberty, or turn it off using both the Sleep/Wake button and home button. As soon as it turns off, hold the home button until the recovery graphic comes up.
    C. Try restoring from the 1.1.1 file.

If this doesn't work, just upgrade to 1.1.4. I've had a grudge against it for a while (I need to update my signature) but I've realized after you fix some minor bugs it runs great.

I believe he said he already did that.

I'm not big on 1.1.3 (never used it), but if the problem persists, 1.1.4 is basically the same with bug fixes.
