I realized that once I updated, the double tap home button to launch the mini music player feature while using apps is gone. Now it springs up recently used applications. Is there anything available on Cydia or online that I can download to allow me to use this discontinued feature again.

EDIT: here is another thread I found about this... http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=932286

Recently used applications? You must have Multitasking

If you do have Multitasking just swipe to the left on the mutitasking dock and there are the Music controls.

Oh wow did not notice that... thanks so much.

This is off-topic, how can I disable multitasking? Rather wait a couple seconds for apps to load for the extra battery.

well you can get ipodpop from cydia that will bring back the mini music player. This has actually been gone since 3.0 came out.

Activator in cydia is also a helpful app that will allow you to assign any buttons (including volume and wake/sleep buttons) to do whatever you want. it also allows you to set things like swiping across your ipod to do something. Note: if you have sbsettings, activator is already installed on your ipod and is found in settings.

Also try going to settings>general>home button, and then assign what you want the double tap to do. however setting this to music or ipod will only bring up the music player while you are playing music.

really? idk what my deal was then, because when i had my ipod touch and upgraded to 3.0 i could only use the mini ipod music player if i had music playing. maybe it was a bug that only some people got? who knows.
