well today i had to take some pictures because of heavy rains near our house, so i took pictures with my iphone. i only took 5 pictures, and the phone was only in the rain about 2 minutes.

i then attempted to make a call, and my ear speaker didnt work (the speaker used to hear when phoning), i couldnt hear a dialtone, and the loud speaker didnt work.

i had no idea why my phone wasnt working. i tried calling and couldnt get anything. the phone was in a case and was mostly covered by my hands because i was taking a picture.

i restarted the phone several times and it still didnt work, so it definitly wasnt a software glitch.

well i shut the phone off, dried it out with the car heater and after an hour, i turned it back on. it finally went back to normal

i cant believe that the iphone could be that sensitive to water, but just happy its working fine.

the phone was on its side, both main openings covered, in a case, in the rain for 2 minutes.

so if you have an iphone or ipod, dont use it at all if its raining. turn it off and put it in a waterproof place. any sort of water that comes in contact with this thing wrecks it, but im happy my phone has nothing wrong with it. (im going to leave it off for tonight just to be safe)

    1. technology and rain don't mix
    2. don't be stupid and put your $600 piece of technology where it shouldn't be
    3. don't dry it out with a heater, put it in rice or kitty litter for 1-2 days next time
    4. i'm glad its still working and i hope you have learned your lesson.

If the iPhone became wet than you should know better. DON'T MAKE YOUR GADGETS WET. What ever happened to common sense?

2 mins is quite a long time to have water falling on an electronic item

You're probably new to this "modern-day technology" thing.

No it's not, rice will soak up all the water and dry it

It does actually work. The rice absorbs all the moisture.
